Amazon: New Kindle DX Available for Pre-Order

Amazon will be releasing the new Kindle DX: Amazon’s 9.7" Wireless Reading Device this summer. However, it is available right now for pre-order at a price of $489.00 (this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping). Amazon will prioritize orders on a first come, first served basis and will notify you via e-mail when they have an estimated delivery date. The 6-inch-screen Kindle is available for immediate shipment for $359.00.

Kindle DX’s display is two and a half times the size of the Kindle display – which is ideal for a broad range of reading material, including graphic-rich books, PDFs, newspapers, magazines and blogs.

The Kindle DX is as thin as a magazine and holds up to 3,500 books (vs. 1,500 on the Kindle), newspapers, magazines and documents. The Kindle DX has an Auto-Rotating Screen which auto-rotates from portrait to landscape as you turn the device so you can view full-width maps, graphs, tables, and Web pages.
